Automobile liability coverage provides both bodily injury and property damage coverage. Bodily injury liability covers you in the event that you cause an accident in which another person is injured. Included in bodily injury are medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages and other special damages. Property damage liability covers you in case your car damages someone else’s property, including but not limited to, their vehicle, fence, light post, etc.
If you become legally liable as a result of a collision, liability also helps to pay for legal defense and court costs if you get sued.
